The shop
WE LIKE OLD TECH. A LOT.
Good gear deserves another life.
Retro Junkie is an Australian online store for vintage electronics, cameras, hi-fi, games, computers, parts and collectibles.
We hunt down interesting gear from yesterday — the stuff that still looks good, sounds good, feels good, or is simply too much fun to disappear.
Some of it is practical. Some of it is collectible. Some of it is wonderfully obsolete.
That’s the point.
One-off finds. Vintage favourites. Ships from Australia.
What we sell
The good stuff from before everything became disposable.
Our catalogue changes constantly because much of our stock is pre-owned, vintage or one-off.
Cameras
Film cameras, lenses, flashes, accessories and photographic gear from another era.
Hi-fi & audio
Amplifiers, receivers, speakers, CD players, portable audio and other equipment made for people who still enjoy pressing actual buttons.
Games
Consoles, games, controllers, accessories and gaming hardware from generations past.
Computers & electronics
Interesting computers, components, gadgets, parts and electronics — useful, unusual and occasionally wonderfully nerdy.
Collectibles
Pop culture, vintage objects and miscellaneous treasures that don’t always fit neatly into a category.
See something you like? Don’t assume we’ll get another one.
A lot of Retro Junkie stock is genuinely one-off.
Why Retro Junkie?
Because new isn’t always better.
Technology moves quickly. Good equipment doesn’t suddenly become useless just because something newer arrives.
- A quality camera can keep taking photographs.
- A good amplifier can keep playing music.
- An old console can still create a ridiculously competitive Saturday night.
And sometimes an object is worth keeping simply because it represents a particular moment in design, technology or culture.
We’d rather see good gear find a new home than be forgotten in a cupboard — or unnecessarily become waste.
Use it. Collect it. Keep it going.
Every item has a story
We aren’t trying to make pre-owned products look factory-new.
Vintage gear has lived a life.
That means an item may have marks, scratches, faded packaging or other signs of age. Where condition matters, we aim to describe it clearly so you can understand what you’re buying.
You’ll also find items sold as tested, working, untested, incomplete or as-is depending on what we know about them.
Check the individual product listing for the condition and details of the item you’re considering.
Real gear. Real condition. No pretending it’s brand new.
The thrill of the find
Retro Junkie isn’t designed to feel like a warehouse with 500 identical products sitting on a shelf.
It’s closer to digging through a great second-hand electronics shop and suddenly spotting something you haven’t seen in years.
- A camera you once wanted.
- The stereo component that completes your setup.
- An obscure accessory.
- A game from your childhood.
- Or something you didn’t know you wanted until five seconds ago.
That’s why the shop keeps changing.
Once it’s gone, it may actually be gone.
Australian stock
Retro Junkie stock ships from Australia.
That means you’re browsing our actual collection rather than an enormous catalogue of products being shipped from unknown overseas suppliers.
We want Retro Junkie to become a place Australians can browse regularly just to see what turned up this week.
Because half the fun of vintage gear is not knowing what you’ll find next.
Good electronics live longer.
Retro Junkie exists for people who still appreciate physical things.
- Buttons.
- Dials.
- VU meters.
- Film advance levers.
- Cartridges.
- Heavy amplifiers.
- Old computers.
- Packaging that somehow survived three decades.
And technology with a little personality.
If that sounds like you, you’re probably in the right place.
Welcome to Retro Junkie.
